Amateur MMA fighter Cole Johnson says he has been offered more than $500-thousand to fight a chimpanzee after joking online that he could beat one. His original TikTok video drew nearly eight million views, and Johnson now claims a group is arranging a fight for September 11th in an unnamed country. He says the chimp would not be sedated and would keep its teeth and claws, while people with tranquilizers would stand by in case the animal became deadly.
Johnson said an earlier backer dropped out, but another group offered even more money. Chimp experts strongly warn against the stunt, saying the animals are far stronger than humans and can cause devastating bites, tearing injuries, or death when they feel threatened.
