Check on grandpa. Bigfoot researchers are trying to identify a strange figure photographed near a remote pond in Onondaga County, New York. The blurry subject, now called the “Syracuse Figure,” appears to be about four feet, nine inches tall and was seen wading in the water. Researchers admit it could simply be an older man skinny-dipping, but they say its size, location, and appearance also leave room for other ideas.
The witness was a hiker taking scenery photos, and investigators say they believe both her account and the pictures are real. The figure does not look like a classic Bigfoot, though researchers wonder whether what looks like bare skin could actually be wet, thin fur. They released the images hoping someone in the Syracuse area might recognize the person, or creature, in them.
