OREO has gone out on a limb before with flavor variations of its famous chocolate sandwich cookie, but some fans say they have gone too far with two new flavors just released in China: KFC Spicy Chicken Oreos and Caramel Popcorn Oreos.
Per food blogger @snackolator, the KFC cookies consist of two Oreo cookies with a layer of KFC-chicken-flavored crème with special KFC embossing in place of the Oreo logo. The Caramel Popcorn Oreos feature a caramel popcorn-flavored crème between two cookies with a popcorn bucket embossed design.
Reactions to the new flavors have been mixed, with comments including “Why would they make the kfc ones when they could make edible ones,” “They can stay in China lol,” and “I’ll try the second one not the first one that’s where I draw the line.” Currently, there are no plans to bring these flavors to the U.S. market.
