Fresno police have arrested a grandmother and several teenagers connected to a string of violent crimes this July. The first incident happened at a middle school, where police say Elida Morales drove her three grandchildren, ages 15, 14, and 17, to confront another young boy. Police say two of the teens attacked the 13-year-old while another recorded it, and when the victim’s grandparents stepped in to stop it, Morales and the 17-year-old pepper-sprayed them.
In a separate case, a 36-year-old man walking near a liquor store was surrounded by a group of teens who accused him of being disrespectful, then beat him and stole money from his pocket before he escaped into a store. Police arrested four of five teen suspects in that case. Officers say the arrests are part of a larger investigation into a violent crime spree that also includes a shooting and stolen vehicles.
