CANTON, N.Y. — The St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce has announced that the annual Canton Town & Village-Wide Garage Sale weekend will take place from Friday, July 31, through Sunday, Aug. 2.

The community-wide event is designed to stimulate local economic activity, attract regional tourism, and encourage sustainable recycling practices by giving residents an opportunity to clear out household clutter.

“The annual town and village-wide garage sale weekend is a much-anticipated event for sellers as well as buyers,” said Tom Graser, community and membership relations manager for the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce. “At the Chamber, we are proud to bring so many people together.”

Organizers are encouraging neighborhood groups, local businesses, and multiple-family units to coordinate joint sales. In past years, these large-scale collective sites have proven highly popular, drawing bargain hunters from across Northern New York and neighboring Canada.

Residents and businesses interested in being included in the Chamber’s official promotional maps and directories must register their sale details by Monday, July 27. Registrants should provide their physical address, specific days and times of operation, and a brief summary of choice items available for purchase.
