Woman Has Late Dog’s Ashes Mixed Into Her Eyeliner Tattoo Ink

A UK permanent makeup artist found a way to keep her beloved dog with her literally everywhere she goes. Claire Hobson lost her Jack Russell terrier Patch after 20 years together, and decided she couldn’t just tuck his ashes in a suitcase as she was preparing to relocate between countries. She was already planning to get her eyeliner tattooed and figured, why not put some of Patch’s ashes in the ink? She approached a close makeup artist friend who had recently lost a pet of their own, and they agreed to do it for her.

“Dogs, they’re loyal, they’re consistent, they show up every single day, and they kiss you when you come home from work and, like, it’s the purest form of love,” Hobson told ITV’s “This Morning.” The semi-permanent eyeliner lasts a few years before needing a touch-up, and Hobson still has more ashes for whenever that time comes. “He’s going to be there a long time,” she said.
