Chinese robotics company Unitree stunned the world with a kung fu demonstration featuring its humanoid robots during the CCTV Spring Festival Gala. The G1 and H2 models performed alongside humans, pulling off somersaults, sword dancing, stick fighting, and even nunchuck moves.
According to the company’s founder, the robots operated without any outside help, using only their own sensors to navigate and adjust in real time. Whether the routines were scripted or not, the fact that the robots could execute such complex martial arts moves is both impressive and a little unsettling. Orders for the robots reportedly jumped 150-percent after the show.
