The Orange County Sheriff’s Office in Florida has added a pretty unusual ride to its fleet: an ice cream truck. The agency posted on X on Feb. 7th that the truck was bought with money seized from drug dealers. “We’re turning money meant for bad into something good for our community,” the post said.
Deputies plan to use the truck to hand out free ice cream in neighborhoods around Orange County, and as for when and where it’ll show up, the sheriff’s office told residents to keep an eye on social media for updates. It’s a fun twist on community policing, paid for with cash that once funded illegal activity.
