A cinnamon capuchin monkey named Chester caused quite a scene at a Tennessee music store over the weekend. The monkey broke into the Trade Center music shop in Morristown sometime during the night by squeezing through a small pet door. Once inside, he made himself at home and damaged several instruments. When store owners arrived Sunday morning, they found the place a mess and called police around 8 am. Animal control tried to catch Chester, but the clever little guy escaped.
A local resident named Adam Ivy finally helped capture the monkey around 6 pm by giving him water and snacks until authorities arrived. Here’s where it gets interesting: a primate keeper says Chester was stolen from a farm in Alabama before being sold in Morristown. Police say they’re looking into the theft claim.
