There’s now a new spin on holiday season porch pirates, this time involving pets. A Los Angeles-area mom is heartbroken after an Amazon delivery driver was caught on video stealing her family’s cat right from their front door. On Dec. 11th, Diane Huff-Medina‘s Ring camera showed the driver dropping off a package at her Lakewood home, then crouching down to pet Piper, a Siamese mix cat. But instead of walking away, the man grabbed Piper by the scruff and took off with her.
The cat has been with the family for six years, and her three young sons are devastated. The family got Piper in 2019, just two months before the boys’ father died in an accident, so the cat has been a big source of comfort. Authorities have now identified the driver, and charges are pending, but Piper still hasn’t been found.
