There Was A World Record For “Most Matches Shoved In Your Nose,” And Now It’s Been Broken

What better way to impress the kids than shoving a lot of things up your nose, right? A Swedish dad named Martin Ströby has broken a Guinness World Record by stuffing 81 matches up his nose, easily beating the previous record of 68. The 42-year-old from Helsingborg was inspired to try after his kids were flipping through a Guinness World Records book and said it would be cool to see their dad in it. At first, he didn’t think he was good enough at anything to be the best in the world, but after looking through the book, he found a record he thought he could beat.

Martin had to figure out a good technique because matches kept falling out of his nostrils. He did several practice runs before finding a method that worked. He completed the record in August with a crowd watching, but his son and daughter were the ones he most wanted to impress. His kids now think he’s really cool, though they were confused about how so many matches fit in his regular-sized nose. Martin said he wanted to make his children proud and show them they have a cool dad to look up to.
