Suzanne Somers’ Widower Has Created An AI-Clone Of Her

Alan Hamel, the widower of actress Suzanne Somers, has created an AI clone of his late wife two years after her death from breast cancer in October 2023. Hamel told People magazine he’s developing what he calls the “Suzanne AI Twin” and says when you look at it next to the real Suzanne, you can’t tell the difference. The AI was trained using all 27 of Somers’ books and hundreds of her interviews.

Hamel says the idea was something he and Somers had discussed since the 1980s after learning about the concept from computer scientist Ray Kurzweil, and it was Somers’ idea to create it. She wanted to provide a service to her fans who need health information. The plan is to upload the AI to SuzanneSomers.com as a 24-hour chatbot where fans can ask health questions. Hamel says his family is on board with the project and sees it as a great tribute to Somers, who was married to Hamel for 55 years.
