As many as 37 magnets and 39 coins have been removed from a 26-year-old man’s intestine who went to the emergency room after vomiting and abdominal pain for three weeks straight. Turns out, the guy who fancies himself a bodybuilder, consumed the trinkets because he was under the impression the zinc in them would help build his physique.
While performing the surgery, the docs identified the coins and magnets in the patient’s small intestine and opened him up to take out the objects. Meanwhile, the man has also been undergoing treatment for a known psychiatric condition, according to the patient’s relatives.
