What’s the one thing that automatically takes you out of your comfort zone? A poll from YouGov sought to find out. A couple thousand men from all age ranges were asked a series of question concerning what makes them the most uneasy. Here are how the results panned out.
- Being naked in a same gender changing room – 49%
- Crying in front of another guy – 48%
- Saying “I love you” to a male relative – 45%
- Going to a gay bar – 44%
- Putting sunscreen on the back of another man – 42%
- Sharing a bed with a male friend – 42%
- Wearing pink – 31%
- Receiving flowers as a “thank you” gift – 26%
- Hugging another guy friend – 17%
- Saying “I love you” to a romantic partner – 8%
- Dining with another male friend at a restaurant – 4%
Interestingly, the percentages were higher for almost every scenario with the older demographics…with the exception of the “naked” and “crying” options, where the 18-24-year-olds were most uncomfortable with the idea.
