In its opening weekend, “Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning – Part One” took in over $80 million in domestic box office. That should be more than enough to pay for the six motorcycles that had their mechanical lives ended while shooting one of the film’s marquee stunts…the big cliff jump/parachuting scene. That stunt was performed on day one of filming but required “500 skydives and 13,000 motocross jumps” just in rehearsals. When it came to shooting that scene, “Cruise rode a motorcycle off a cliff six times that day.” Six of them, to be exact…and they didn’t have parachutes like he did.
