Nail Salon Pays $1.5 Million To Client Who Lost Her Leg

A simple pedicure in 2018 turned into a nightmare for 55-year-old Clara Shellman of Tampa, Florida. Shellman sued Tammy’s Nails 2 salon after a tech sliced her foot open; the wound quickly became infected and doctors decided to amputate her leg.

The salon has agreed to pay her $1.75 million in an out-of-court settlement, despite claiming their equipment was unsanitary and the loss of her leg was her fault. Tammy’s Nails 2 is no longer in business; their location has been taken over by the local chain Tampa Nails.
