Rare 1988 ‘WristMac’ Expected To Sell For Close To $50k

In 1988, Seiko and Ex Machina debuted the ‘WristMac’ smartwatch, which went on to send the first email from space from the Space Shuttle Atlantis in 1991. An unopened, unworn model is now up for auction and is expected to sell for somewhere between $25k and $50k.

Experts say it’s hard to predict what the selling price will be since they aren’t any recent sales of this rare piece of tech to judge by. The model up for auction was bought by the owner for less than $50 at a closeout sale in Connecticut and includes the original box, registration card, the original cables, and a floppy disc with the watch’s software.
